Seismic Performance of Strengthened Slab-Column Connections in a Full-Scale Test

نویسندگان

چکیده

Strengthening of flat slab-column connections to resist imposed lateral drifts is often required for older reinforced concrete structures in which the slabs were typically designed gravity load only or have been less stringent requirements. The complex stress state around columns means that strong experimental evidence repair and strengthening techniques be adopted with confidence practice. Although a significant amount research has devoted connections, series limitations still remain. A thorough literature review revealed relatively thin isolated specimens tested under seismic-type loading realistic scenarios. To overcome these limitations, full-scale two-story slab building specimen was at European Commission’s Joint Research Centre – ELSA Laboratory Ispra, Italy. This paper describes analyzes results obtained from last phases, on repaired strengthened internal external using post-installed bolts. Compared previous tests, thicker (200 mm), continuity conditions after they suffered damage phases. show bolts are efficient even described (i.e. damaged thickness), punching shear failure prevented connections.

Full Scale Reinforced Concrete Beam-Column Joints Strengthened with Steel Reinforced Polymer Systems

This paper presents the results of an experimental campaign performed at the Laboratory of Materials and Structural Testing of the University of Salerno (Italy) in order to investigate the seismic performance of reinforced concrete (RC) beam-column joints strengthened with steel reinforced polymer (SRP) systems. With the aim to represent typical façade frames’ beam-column subassemblies found in...

non-linear seismic behavior of concrete beam - column connections

a parametrik investigation was conducted to study the non-linear behavior of precast and cast-in-place reinforced concrete beam-column connections subjected to tabas seismic forces (1979). the behavior of these types of connections in a four stories structure with respect to strength, ductility , stiffness, and bond deterioration at the joint core are presented and discussed. calculation result...

Behavior of Full-Scale Shear Deficient Corner RC Beam- Column Connections Retrofitted with CFRP Sheets

In moment resisting reinforced concrete framed buildings, corner joints are found at the roof level. These joints, if designed for gravity loads and are based on pre-seismic codes, may suffer substantial damage during earthquakes particularly under opening cycles, i.e. those causing flexural tension on the inside of the joint. Several techniques of repair and strengthening of reinforced concret...

FE Modelling of the Seismic Behavior of Wide Beam-Column Joints Strengthened with CFRP Systems

A large share of reinforced concrete (RC) framed buildings is provided with wide beams being a type of beam allowing greater freedom in the architectural arrangement of interiors, beyond further advantage due to fewer formworks needed during the construction. Nevertheless, little attention has been devoted to the seismic vulnerability of this kind of framed RC buildings as well as to the study ...
